Tobacco control activities
SUBAH has been working in order to implement the smoking and use of tobacco-oriented things (control) law 2005. Meherpur district is a hub for Tobacco cultivation. BATB, JTI, Abul Khair Tobacco companies are patronizing the farmers for tobacco cultivation here. Three big depots are established here by them. To discourage them all sorts of advertisements relating to tobacco have been removed from Meherpur Upazila with the help of the administration. Meherpur district became a model in the country for the same. In order to free public places and transport, SUBAH worked relentlessly. Creating mass awareness in implementing the Tobacco Control Laws and discouraging tobacco cultivation. SUBAH is a member of the District and Upazila Tobacco Control Law Implementation Task Force Committee.
